{"id":16515,"date":"2025-01-21T15:54:09","date_gmt":"2025-01-21T15:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lbds.com\/?p=16515"},"modified":"2025-01-21T15:54:09","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T15:54:09","slug":"lallemand-announces-appointment-of-new-president-general-manager-of-its-biofuels-distilled-spirits-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lbds.com\/en\/europe\/lallemand-announces-appointment-of-new-president-general-manager-of-its-biofuels-distilled-spirits-business\/","title":{"rendered":"LALLEMAND ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW PRESIDENT &#038; GENERAL MANAGER OF ITS BIOFUELS &#038; DISTILLED SPIRITS BUSINESS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MONTREAL, CANADA \u2013 JANUARY 21, 2025 &#8211; <\/strong>Lallemand is proud to announce the appointment of Justin van Rooyen, succeeding Angus Ballard, as the President &amp; General Manager of its Lallemand Biofuels &amp; Distilled Spirits (LBDS) business, a global provider of fermentation ingredients to the fuel and beverage alcohol industries, effective February 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Angus Ballard has successfully led the LBDS business since 2014 and will transition to the role of Senior Vice President &amp; Special Advisor at the Lallemand Group level, whilst simultaneously supporting the LBDS management team and leadership transition over the next several years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cWe are excited to have someone of Justin\u2019s caliber, experience and track record to lead our Biofuels and Distilled Spirits business\u201d says Bill Nankervis, Executive VP and COO of Lallemand. \u201cI am confident Justin will provide continuity of leadership and strategic direction, working closely with our customers and business partners in providing market leading fermentation products, solutions and technologies for the global biofuel and beverage alcohol markets. In addition, I am looking forward to continuing working closely with Angus in his new role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Justin has two degrees in Engineering (South Africa and The Netherlands) complemented by an MBA from Harvard Business School. He joined Mascoma LLC in 2007 (New Hampshire, USA), which was then acquired by Lallemand in 2014. Over the last 10 years Justin has directed the expansion of the LBDS business in Brazil and has successfully led many strategic projects in his role as Senior VP Business Development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored and grateful to the leadership team of Lallemand for the opportunity to lead this wonderful organization,\u201d said Justin van Rooyen. \u201cWe are well positioned to build on the successes of the past and to have a large and meaningful impact in the sectors of both industrial biotechnology and that of traditional fermentation processes.
